Privacy statement

Personal data is carefully processed and secured by us. We stick to the requirements imposed in that regard by the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). Lekko B.V. is responsible for data processing on the website. Because our data processing is covered by the statutory exemption regulations, they are not registered with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA). In this privacy statement, we explain what personal data we collect and use, and for what purposes.

This privacy statement was last amended on 16th February 2022.

Recording and processing data

When you use our website, certain details may be left behind on it. This can include personal data. You can provide personal data to us either actively or passively. Data that is provided actively is information that you for instance send to us by e-mail. In addition, the website can automatically store information, sometimes without you being aware of it. In that case, the data has been provided passively. This privacy statement tells you precisely what actively and passively provided data is processed and for what purposes.
Data that is no longer required will be deleted. You have the right to ask to see and correct or delete your data. Please refer to the contact details at the bottom of this privacy statement for this. To prevent misuse and/or fraud, we may then ask you to provide appropriate identification.

Information requests

If you request information or a quotation from us, we store the data that is required in order to handle your request for information or an offer. We use that data to contact you and follow up your request for information.

E-mail

If you send us an e-mail, then the data you send to us will be retained for as long as is necessary depending on the content of your e-mail.

Providing data to third parties

We do not pass on the data you provide to us to any third party unless this is necessary in the context of an agreement that you enter into with us, or if we are legally obliged to do so. In cases of suspected fraud or misuse of our website, we may also pass on personal data to the competent authorities.

Data security

We use appropriate security procedures, for instance to prevent unauthorised parties from accessing personal data.

Clicking behaviour and visit details

General data about visits to the website is retained. In this context, the IP address of your computer can be recorded, along with any username, the time of the query and details provided by the user’s browser, and used for statistical analyses of visitor and clicking behaviour on the website. We attempt to anonymise this data as much as possible. We do not pass this data on to third parties.

Use of cookies

We make use of cookies on our website. A cookie is a small file that is sent to your computer when you visit pages on our website and stored by your browser on the hard disk of your computer. Amongst other things, this enables us to combine different searches of pages on the website and to analyse users’ behaviour. You can block the use of these cookies, but this may restrict the functionality of the website and the ease with which it can be used.

We consider all cookies on our website to be necessary and these will always be installed. If you wish to remove these cookies you can do so by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. This Add-on prevents information on visitor information being shared with Google Analytics.

Cookies can always be blocked and removed quite simply via your internet browser. You can configure your internet browser in such a way that you receive a message when a cookie is installed. You can also indicate when you do not want to have specific cookies installed. Consult the help function on your browser for this possibility. If you remove the cookies in your browser, this may affect the smooth running of the website. Some tracking cookies are installed by third parties who, for example, display adverts via our website. These cookies can be removed centrally via www.youronlinechoices.eu.

We also make use of social media-related cookies. This enables social media, such as Facebook and LinkedIn, to register which articles and pages you share via their social-media sharing buttons. They can also contain tracking cookies which track your browsing history on the web.

You should be aware that by removing cookies, we can no longer guarantee that our website will function optimally. It might be the case that some functions on the site are missing or even that you can no longer visit the site at all. In addition, blocking cookies does not necessarily mean you will not see any more adverts. It may only be that the adverts you see are no longer matched to your interests and so for that reason are repeated more often.

How you adjust your settings can differ per browser. If necessary, consult the help function in your browser, or click on one of the links below to go directly to your browser’s user instructions.

Google services

Our website uses certain services from Google, such as Google Analytics, that may utilise cookies and other techniques to record information about how users use the website. Google passes the information that is obtained this way, including the address of your computer (its IP address), through to their servers in the United States on which it is also stored.

Google uses this information to keep track of how our website is used, to let reports be generated for us about the website and to provide information to its advertisers about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may provide that information to third parties if legally required to do so, or insofar as third parties process that information on behalf of Google. We have no control over this.

Third-party websites

This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites that are associated with this website through links. We cannot guarantee that these third parties will handle your personal data confidentially or safely. We therefore recommend that you read the privacy statements of such websites before using them.

Your rights

We are aware that you have the following rights with regard to your data:

  • The right to contact us freely and at reasonable intervals with the request to inform you whether personal data are being processed about you;
  • The right to object to the processing of personal data about you for the purposes of direct marketing;
  • The right to have personal data about you corrected, supplemented, deleted, or screened if they are factually incorrect, incomplete, irrelevant or otherwise processed in violation of a statutory provision;
  • The right to object to the processing of personal data about you due to your special personal circumstances.

If you wish to make a request on the basis of the above rights, please contact us. We may ask you for proof of your identity for the purpose of verification purposes.

Amendments to the privacy statement

We reserve the right to make amendments to this privacy statement. It is therefore recommended that this privacy statement should be consulted regularly, so that you are aware of any changes.
